 About The Giddygold Kennel
 
Kennel Giddygold består af en flok golden retrievere og vores lille familie. Vi bor ca. 15 km syd for Aabenraa, og ca. 15 km fra grænsen  Her bor  på en nedlagt landejendom med hunde, høns og katte. Fritiden bruger vi på træning, udstilling og markprøver, da vi finder det vigtigt, at en flot Golden også har det rigtige temperament.

Hvalpene bliver født og vokser op i vores bolig, for at de netop skal blive præget så meget som muligt af os. De ældre hunde og vores to døtre på 9 år og 5 år og søn på 2 år, har hvalpene daglig kontakt med, for at udruste dem bedst muligt til deres fremtid. "Hvalpen siddende i hjørnet", finder du ikke her hos os !. Jeg opdrætter omkring 1-2 kuld hvalpe pr. år, og lægger stor vægt på at finde den rette familie til hver enkelt hvalp, som alle er små forskellige individer.

Vi bruger en del tid på at følge vores hvalpe i deres videre liv med deres nye familier, og hjælpe til hvor vi kan. Da vi selv er trænere i vores område, sørger vi for al den træning der skulle være behov for, og ellers hjælper vi til med at finde træningspladser i DRK´s andre regioner. 

Når hvalpene er mellem 7-8 uger gamle, bliver der lavet en hvalpetest. På den måde finder vi hurtigt ud af, hvor dominant, og hvor i hierarkiet hver enkelt hvalp er, og dermed hvilken hvalp der passer til den enkelte familie.

The Giddygold kennel

My name is Jeanette Filskov, and I breed golden retrievers. My family and I, live about 15 kilometre south of Aabenraa, and about 15 kilometre from the German border.

We are living at an abolished little farm with dogs, chickens and cats - green fields and a lot of fresh air.
We use our spare time training the dogs, taking part in dog shows and fieldtrials, because I think it is important that a beautiful, (an elegant) golden also is endowed with the right temper.

We bring up the pups in our home - so that they will be influenced as much as possible by us. The elder dogs and the pups, are in daily contact with our children, (Mia 10 years old, Tea 6 years old and Alec 3 years old) so that our dogs will have natural relations to human beings. In that way we are able to make the dogs capable , in every way, to handle the future. In my kennel you will not find: "The puppy sitting in a corner".

I breed 1-2 litters per year, and I consider it of greatest importance that I find the right family for every puppy, because they all have different qualities.

I use a lot of time, following the puppies in their future lifes, with their new families - and help them all, where I am able to. As I am a trainer in our region, I will take care of that the dogs/pups get all the training, they need. I will also help find places to train in DRK´s other regions.

At the time, when the pups are between 7 and 8 weeks old, I will test all the puppies. That way, I quickly discover how dominant each puppy is, and where they fit into the hierarchy. Taking the outcome of the test's into consideration, I will try to find the puppy, which is suited for each exact family.
